Your hospitalization
Post-operative hospitalization lasts for two nights.
Surgery takes place under general anesthesia in the operating room, and lasts approximately one hour.
Neurosurgeon make a small incision at the neck level in order to insert a small spring-shaped electrodes next to the left vagal nerve, as the right one can cause cardiac arrythmia.
A neurostimulator is implanted under the left collar bone, in a subcutaneous pocket.
Electrodes are tunneled subcutaneously with the neurostimulator with electric wires.
