How to adequately prepare your consultation
You might get to this consult by many different ways:
- your general practitioner;
- a specialist (reeducation doctor, neurologist,…);
- another Hospital or Clinic;
- a structure handling abnormal movements like a Parkinson expert disorder center.
An operability assessment is realized in day-hospital. It includes a movement evaluation, a neuropsychological evaluation, a cerebral MRI, and a dental panoramic.
The result is kept depending on the results of the examinations that have been carried out. Moreover, you must not present any cognitive, psychiatric or personality disorders.
You are then informed of the staff’s decision. Other than the terms of the surgery, the medical team also establishes objectives which are, if all goes well, doable. It will be clearly pointed out to you that the intervention will not “cure” the disease, but rather act upon its symptoms.
