Biography

Doctor Naoufel Ouerchefani was born in Metz, Moselle (France). He studied at the UPEC Paris-Est Créteil University, then started working as an official neurosurgeon, in 2009, in Paris at the Henri Mondor Hospital in Créteil. His choice of specializing in neurosurgery was guided by his curiosity about the brain, and the many mysteries surrounding.

 

Interested as he was by everything about functional neurosurgery, as well as different surgical techniques used all over the world, he started to work at the Henri Mondor Hospital in order to learn about deep-brain and spinal cord stimulation techniques.

He became a staff-member of the Foch Hospital in 2017, to strengthen his experience in this field and conduct a variety of research protocols.

 

He has, since 2009, pursued many workshops, training modules, and international congresses. He was also received a wide range of French university diplomas (in neuro-oncology, neuro-anatomy, and stereotaxic surgery). Furthermore, in 2014, Doctor Ouerchefani also got a Masters degree in Surgical Sciences, and, in 2018, the national French diploma for pain management.

He taught at university in pain management modules for orthopedic and osteopathic diplomas. He also published many articles in international scientific journals and performed various speeches on national and international conferences.

Doctor Ouerchefani opened a partial liberal activity at the Private European Hospital in Aubervilliers on January 1st 2022, and was appointed as the Chief of the Neuromodulation Unit. His specific area of interests, both in terms of surgery and medicine, as well as research and teaching are: deep brain stimulation in movements disorders, spinal cord stimulation in neuropathic pain, intrathecal therapy in cancerous pain, and vagal nerve stimulation in drug-resistant epilepsy.

  • Thesis called « Facteurs prédictifs de l’hydrocéphalie à la suite d’une hémorragie sous-arachnoïdienne spontanée chez 161 patients » which he presented and defended on July 15, 2005 – with the jury’s congratulations, and a very honorable mention.
  • Doctor in Medicine, nominated on July 15, 2005.
